On behalf of UCS Renewables, we designed a supporting framework for an array of photovoltaic (PV) panels for Oldham College. This required the wind loadings to the panels to be carefully assessed, to ensure that the array was stable under extreme weather conditions. The frames were constructed from a light steel section, and were fixed to the flat roof by holding down bolts at the raised mounting points.
